What is Rove Miles? A Deep Dive into This Travel Rewards Platform

If you’re always on the lookout for new ways to squeeze more travel value out of everyday spending and bookings (like me), then Rove Miles deserves your attention. Unlike many traditional credit-card programs or airline-specific loyalty programs, Rove Miles bills itself as a universal travel rewards currency – one that you can earn via shopping, hotel bookings, flight bookings, and then redeem for flights, hotels, or transfer to partner programs and WITHOUT the requirement of having a credit card.

Here’s what you need to know:

  • It’s a loyalty program run by Rove Card, Inc. (founded by Max Morganroth & Arhan Chhabra) that launched in 2025.
  • You can earn Rove Miles on hotel stays (in some cases up to ~25x+ per dollar), flights (1-10x or similar), and online shopping via their portal/extension.
  • You can redeem Rove Miles in two main ways: book travel via the Rove portal (hotels or flights) or transfer your Miles to a number of partner airline and hotel loyalty programs.
  • They claim you can get outsized value per Mile compared with typical cash-back or travel portal bookings. For example, some hotel redemptions claim >2.0 cents per Mile in value.

So, the big question: does it work, and how do you make it work for you? That’s what we’ll explore below – how to book flights/hotels with cash or Miles, how to stack it with loyalty programs, and a tutorial/walk-through so you’re ready to dive in.

Why Use Rove Miles? The Value Proposition

Here are some of the main reasons Rove Miles stands out (and also a few caveats to keep in mind).

✅ What’s interesting about it

  • Flexible currency: Unlike being tied to one airline or hotel chain, Rove allows transfers to multiple partner programs (currently 12+), like some of the major banks, across all three major airline alliances.
  • Stackable earnings: Their newest rollout in October 2025 now allows you to earn hotel loyalty program points. You can earn Rove Miles on top of your regular credit card rewards and loyalty program points. For example, book a hotel via Rove (earn Rove Miles) + you earn the hotel’s loyalty points (if eligible) + your credit card points. Triple stacking is valuable!
  • Potential outsized value: As mentioned, some redemptions using Rove Miles claim higher cents-per-Mile values than typical travel portals or cash-back. Example: up to ~2.2 cents/mile for hotels in some cases. This can happen especially IF you use their transfer partners and bonuses.
  • Accessible to many: Because you don’t necessarily need a top tier travel credit card (though having one helps), Rove opens up possibilities for users who aren’t “pinned” solely to the major card ecosystems.

⚠️ What to watch / limitations

  • Dynamic pricing: Rove’s Terms & Conditions say that the number of Miles required for flights/hotels is dynamic and may change without notice. Of course, this is more up to the hotels and airlines than Rove.
  • Redemption availability and partner constraints: As with all programs, you’re still subject to what airlines/hotels allow. Just because you have the Miles doesn’t guarantee the ideal space.
  • New program, less track record: Because Rove is fairly new, fewer data-points exist compared with long-standing programs. Always do your homework and don’t assume everything will go smoothly.
  • Booking portal vs. transfer vs. direct: Some methods may offer better value than others; you’ll need to understand which redemption path gives you the best value for your Miles. DYOR.

How to Book Flights & Hotels: Cash or Rove Miles

Let’s break down the two main ways you’ll interact with Rove: using cash/bookings (and earning Miles) vs. redeeming Miles for travel.

A. Booking travel with cash (and earning Rove Miles + stack rewards)

  1. Hotels:
    • Use the Rove hotel booking platform (they claim 200,000+ properties) and book via cash payment. According to their site, you can earn “up to 25x miles per dollar spent” on hotel bookings.
    • Because you’re booking cash and via Rove, you may still earn the hotel’s loyalty points/elite credits (if you book a rate that qualifies via the brand) and your credit card points.
    • Hotels available to earn hotel loyalty benefits with Rove Miles include: All – accor Live Limitless, Best Western Rewards, Hilton Honors, IHG One Rewards, Marriott Bonvoy, Radisson Rewards, World of Hyatt and Wyndham Rewards.
    • Example workflow: Book non-refundable through Rove → pay with travel credit-card → check in as usual → you earn hotel loyalty points + your card points + Rove Miles.
  2. Flights:
    • Use the Rove flight booking tool. It claims you can earn 1-10x Miles when booking flights with participating airlines via Rove.
    • Double stacking as you earn Rove Miles + your credit card’s rewards.
    • So again: cash payment, but multi-layer earn.
  3. Shopping/Portal:
    • Rove offers a shopping portal or browser extension – larger than Rakuten! You shop with partnered merchants (over 7,000 merchants) and earn Rove Miles on top of your regular card/portal rewards.
    • Bonus: you can combine everyday spending with your travel strategy.

B. Redeeming Rove Miles for travel

  1. Direct redemption:
    • Within Rove’s platform you can use your Rove Miles to book flights or hotels. The value you get per Mile depends on the specific offer/cash equivalent. The site claims “up to ~2.2cents per Mile” for hotels.
    • You’ll need to review the cash price vs miles price to decide if it’s a good redemption. Always DYOR!
  2. Transfer to partner loyalty programs:
    • Rove’s transfer partner list (12 programs) allows you to move your Rove Miles at (mostly) 1:1 into an airline/hotel program.
    • Transfer partners include: Aeromexico, ALL – Accor Live Limitless 1.5:1, Cathay Pacific, Etihad, Finnair, KLM/Flying Blue, Hainan Airlines Fortune Wings Club, Maharaja Club, Qatar Airways Privilege Club, Thai Airways Royal Orchid Plus, Turkish Airlines, Vietnam  and Airlines Lotus Miles.
    • Once transferred, you can use that partner’s award charts and options. If you’re savvy, this could unlock very high value.
    • Rove Miles also offers transfer bonuses. They rolled out their first two in September 2025. Transfer bonuses are valuable in making your points stretch further.
    • Pro tip: Always check the partner’s award chart and availability before transferring (since transfers are irreversible).
  3. Redemption strategy:
    • Compare the cash price vs. the miles price (or compare transferral value) to compute your cents per point (CPP). If you’re getting significantly more than ~1 cents each (for example, 2 cents+), you’re likely getting good value.
    • Use the shopping portal & paid bookings to accumulate Miles, then redeem when you find an outsized deal transfer.

Step-by-Step Tutorial: How to Get Started with Rove Miles

Step 1: Sign up and install tools

  • Visit RoveMiles.com and create an account (free).
  • (Optional but recommended) Install the Rove Shopping Chrome extension so that online purchases can earn Miles automatically. Make sure Rove Miles Shopping is the most lucrative offer out there.
  • Link your credit card for purchases (you still need to pay with a credit card or debit card for bookings/shopping).
  • Verify your email/account and explore the dashboard.

Step 2: Earn Miles

  • Hotel bookings: In the Rove portal, search hotels as you normally would. Toggle for pay with “Miles” or pay with “cash”. Compare rates, see how many Miles you’ll earn (often shown as “Xx miles per dollar”).
  • Flight bookings: Use the Rove flight tool. Toggle for pay with “Miles” or pay with “cash” & earn miles options.
  • Shopping portal: Use the Rove portal or extension, click through to a partner merchant, and then complete your purchase. You’ll earn Rove Miles in addition to your usual card rewards.

Step 3: Monitor Miles & Choose Redemption Path

  • Check your Rove Miles balance in the dashboard.
  • Decide whether you want to redeem via the Rove travel portal (booking directly) or transfer to one of the partner loyalty programs.
  • If transferring: verify the partner’s program, award chart, wait times, and availability. Remember transfers are irreversible.
  • If booking directly: compare cash rate vs. miles rate to compute your cents per point (CPP). Aim for high value (>1.2-2 cents/Mile is a decent benchmark depending on travel category).

Step 4: Make a Booking or Transfer

  • For a hotel direct booking: Toggle cash or miles → Choose property  → finalize.
  • For flight redemption: Toggle cash or miles → ensure taxes/fees are understood → confirm booking.
  • For transfer: Navigate to “Transfer Miles” or similar menu → select the partner program → amount of Miles → transfer. Then go to the partner’s site to book your award space. Always check availability FIRST before transferring!
  • After booking or transferring: keep an eye on your account for any adjustments, ensure your airline/hotel loyalty account is credited, keep your booking confirmations, and if needed pay any taxes/fees separately.

Step 5: Stack with Your Loyalty Programs & Credit Card Strategy

  • When booking hotels with Rove: set your loyalty program membership number in the booking (on select hotels) to earn hotel points + elite credits – check to see which hotels are available.
  • Use a travel reward or premium credit card for payment to earn card points (e.g., 3x or more) on top of the Rove Miles. Triple stacking win.
  • Use the shopping portal for your everyday spend where convenient – especially for large online purchases.
  • Track your usage: How many Rove Miles did you earn? What was your redemption value? Use this to judge future bookings.

Best Use-Cases & When to Deploy Rove Miles

  • Hotel stays that are otherwise expensive: The high multiplier (e.g., 10x-25x) on hotel bookings via Rove can make a paid-stay stack very compelling.
  • Transfers to premium airline partners: If you see award space in a partner program, transferring Rove Miles can be powerful.
  • Online shopping where you’re already buying anyway: Using the portal converts everyday purchases into travel value.
  • When you don’t want to deal with complicated award charts: The direct booking route gives a simpler “cash vs miles” comparison.

However, if you:

  • Have high elite status in a hotel brand and only want to use brand-specific loyalty redemptions, you may prefer sticking with the hotel’s own program.
  • Are chasing very specific ultra-premium awards in partner programs, always do the math before transferring.
  • Prefer simplicity, you’ll need to make sure you’re comfortable with a newer program (Rove) and its evolving nature.

Final Thoughts

Rove Miles is an exciting and modern addition to the travel rewards landscape. It offers flexibility, stacking potential, and pathways to high-value travel that many users may not have considered before. If you’re already using premium travel credit cards, loyalty programs, and online shopping portals, Rove Miles could be the missing layer that helps you unlock even more reward value.

That said – it’s still relatively new, and you’ll want to use it with strategy and awareness (of transfer timings, dynamic pricing, partner availability, etc.). If you set up Rove right, stack it properly, and monitor your bookings and redemptions, it can be a strong component of your travel-hacking toolbox. On a personal note, it’s one of my new favorites.

✅ Quick Start Checklist

  •  Sign up for Rove Miles and install the extension
  •  Link your credit card and verify your account
  •  Make your first hotel or flight booking via Rove to earn Miles
  •  Use the shopping portal for a large purchase to stack Miles
  •  Check transfer partner programs for award space and move Miles when it makes sense
  •  Track your total value per Mile to benchmark future redemptions
